About the Conference

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Drake University will be hosting the CBMS Conference on Algorithmic Fractal Dimensions from May 20 to May 24, 2024. The main goal of this conference is to provide an introduction to the various notions of algorithmic fractal dimension and their applications to areas such as geometric measure theory, computational complexity, information theory, and the theory of Borel normal numbers.

The conference will consist of a series of daily lectures given by Dr. Jack Lutz, Professor of Computer Science at Iowa State University in Ames, IA. In addition to ten lectures in total delivered by Dr. Lutz, time will be reserved for problem sessions, group work, and discussion.
